Sodexo Prestige Specialty Healthcare Division has an exciting new opportunity for a qualified Director of Operations to oversee the Food, Environmental Services, and Service Response operations at Boston Children's Hospital, a 395-bed children's hospital located in the Longwood Medical and Academic Area of Boston, Massachusetts. One of the largest pediatric medical centers in the United States, Children's offers a complete range of health care services for children from birth through 21 years of age. The International Center at Boston Children's Hospital serves patients from more than 100 countries including coordination of visits, medical records, travel, accommodation, and immigration.

In addition this position will have future responsibilities to include managing Sodexo internal Children’s hospital network, Sodexo innovation projects, and support another Children’s Hospital.

The ideal candidate will be a strategic-minded leader together with entrepreneurial spirit, and able to merge the clients’ vision and expectations into Sodexo’s mission of providing outstanding quality of life services. This position interacts with multiple clients therefore we are seeking sharp client relationship skills with internal and external customer relations expertise.

The best qualified candidate will have Food and/or Environmental Services technical operations expertise, knowledge of latest trends and innovations to drive client value demonstrated experience. Experience in a Childrens Hospital Healthcare environment is preferred.

You will be responsible for successfully coordinating and directing all operations-related activities through subordinate managers, supervisors and employees, including financial performance, client retention and satisfaction, project management skills, training and talent development, and policy compliance. Strong leadership and communication skills in the C-suite are a must. You will work directly with clients and Regional Vice President in all matters relating to contract and account operations in order to establish and maintain a solid and mutually beneficial business relationship that ensures account retention.

  • Strong Food and/or ES technical operations expertise, knowledge of latest trends and innovations to drive client value.

  • Strategic thinker to connect best practice solutions to proactively serve client challenges

  • Strong financial acumen to effectively manager portfolio’s P&L - having managed a portfolio of $25M or more

  • Project & Contract Management experience

  • Build relationships with executives of a world-class institution

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Experience in managing high profile / blue chip accounts

  • Ability to support, build, and manage complex client relationships

  • Keen awareness of employee performance management and development

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Creative problem solving acumen

  • Ability to perform under pressure in a complex network of relationships

  • Ability to drive people processes – engagement, recruitment, development

The successful candidate must reside in the Boston MA area

Position Summary

Responsible for providing operational support to existing and prospective client account's within a division or regional area within a division. Directs the support of one or more operational functions to support and to maintain compliance with the client contract. Aligns services in support of company or divisional initiatives. Provide services in support of the sales effort through feasibility studies, pricing, and quality service. Directs resources in response to client account needs and requests. Provides leadership and training to client accounts on operational subject matters. Supervises a team of operational/project support positions.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Bachelor’s Degree

Basic Management Experience - 7 years

Basic Functional Experience - 7 years of experience in operations
