Sodexo's University's segment is seeking a creative and dynamic Executive Chef 2 for our long tenured account at Illinois Wesleyan University at located in Bloomington, IL . Illinois Wesleyan University is an independent, residential, liberal arts university founded in 1850 with a population on campus of 1,800.

This account offers High end Catering year around with summer conferences and wedding business. Our dining facilities offer a newly remodeled retail operation with four formats: Sub-Connection, Cactus Cafe, Passport & Super Salads. Additionally we offer a "We Proudly Serve" Starbucks, Freshens & a convenient store at our location in the Memorial Center. The Bertholf Commons is our residential dining location where we serve meals to our students, guest and staff and faculty on campus this area seats 500. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be working alongside a solid managment staff of 7, you will oversee a staff of 70 full time and par-time employees and 65 work study students and student managers.

This high level Executive Chef opportunity will give you the latitude to be creative, build strong client relationships through menu design on a regular basis. This position requires excellent communication and strong leadership skills along with the proven ability to provide a superior customer service experience . Positive Client and student interaction is essential to the success of this position.

Position Summary

Designs, supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
