Sodexo Campus Services is seeking an Executive Chef 2 for our prestigious account at Ohio Northern University (ONU ) located in rural Ada , Ohio . Ohio Northern University is a private institution with 3,200 students. Founded in 1871, Ohio Northern University is a selective, private, comprehensive university, comprising five colleges. Our scenic, safe and modern campus rests on nearly 342 acres in the village of Ada, Ohio (population 5,582). Our location provides a quaint small town atmosphere. Located in northwest Ohio, Adais 69 miles from Toledo, Ohio, to the north, 80 miles from Columbus, Ohio, to the south and 15 miles to Lima, Ohio to the west. Account features an "All You Can Eat" dining room, retail and catering. There are approximately 1,400 students on a meal plan.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee up to 45 associates in a union environment and will direct all food production activities related to Resident Dining, Retail Food and Catering Services. The best qualified candidate will have: College/University culinary and culinary management experience -- a culinary degree preferred but not mandatory -- experience with training and leading a culinary staff -- experience with on-line ordering and inventory management -- experience with food and labor costing -- experience with menu creation and culinary catering production. In addition, successful candidate will bring a high level culinary flair and strong culinary skill set with the ability to produce a higher end product for this contemporary account.

Position Summary

Designs, supervises, coordinates and participates in activities of cooks and other kitchen personnel in a medium to large account. This position is recognized as the technical expert, teacher and trainer for other chefs and cooks within the account. Selects and develops recipes and other items for clients. Develops menu, implements and trains HACCP, oversees/purchases food, establishes production levels and inventory controls, interviews and hires new chefs, manages/controls food cost issues and offer solutions, may train other chefs outside account. May cook selected items, and plan or price menus. Typically has chefs and cooks reporting to this position.

Qualifications & Requirements

Basic Education Requirement - Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree

Basic Management Experience - 2 years

Basic Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in food or culinary services including restaurants, fast food, vending, catering services, institutional services, mall food courts, etc.
