The Environmental Svc Attnd may work in any location on client premises. This individual cleans and keeps in an orderly condition facilities or locations in the areas of commercial, health care, schools, universities or other establishments. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but Sodexo may identify other responsibilities of the position. These responsibilities may differ among accounts, depending on business necessities, client requirements and applicable industry standards.
Cleans offices, patients /residents rooms, dorms, classrooms, schools, common areas, lavatories, halls, food service areas and any other areas that may require attention.
Sweeps, mops, scrubs, polishes floors and vacuums hallways, stairs and office space.
Cleans light fixtures, ceilings and vents, walls, mattresses, furniture, windows and window coverings.
Will be required to properly and safely use cleaning chemicals per manufacturer and Sodexo standards.
Empties trash and garbage containers.
May shampoo and cleans carpets or buff and polish floors which will require the use of mechanical equipment.
May change sheets and replenish linens.
May perform routine equipment maintenance and make minor repairs.
May drive a golf cart or other vehicles.
Moves furniture and sets-up tables and chairs.
Notifies supervisor concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
No previous experience required.

Generally in an indoor setting; however, may participate in outside activities and events.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.

Job Description for Custodian II
This position will either be a 2nd or 3rd shift full time position at Ohio Northern University Physical Plant.
Benefits: After 30 days, employee will be eligible to receive holiday paid time off and to start accruing sick pay (up to 2 weeks per year). After 60 days of employment, employee will be eligible to receive health benefits. After a year of employment, employee will receive 2 weeks of vacation and 2 personal days.
Job Description: Keep building, in and out, in a clean and orderly condition; note safety hazards and items needing repair and report them to the supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Custodians may occasionally be called upon to provide on the job training and to supervise student workers.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities as Custodian II:
Clean offices, classrooms, hallways and restrooms
Dust mop and wet mop floors
Empty wastebaskets, clean woodwork, polish brass, wash windows
Operate buffing machines, automatic scrubbing machines, vacuum cleaners and carpet shampoo machines
Clean and sanitize plumbing fixtures
Strip and wax floors
Change light bulbs and tubes
Maintain the general appearance and tidiness of outside areas adjacent to buildings, remove paper and debris from lawns, and keep sidewalks and steps well swept and in good appearance
Other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor
Valid driver s license
High school diploma or equivalent
Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position
Ability to read, write, and follow
Ability to plan and complete work without constant direct supervision
